Look in this space for a full view of some of the quilts. Most are featured in my books and patterns. All are made with my Creative Grids trim tools. I am in the process of launching a new website. More to come......

A budding quilter
Allright....I admit it! I am a great-grandmother. I have 2 great-grandchildren - Emeline age 3 and Adelaide age 1. Both are sheltering at home with mama. Elizabeth, and dada, Robert. Emeline is a little social butterfly and really misses her preschool at St Timothy Episcopal church. Elizabeth is very creative and keeps Emeline busy with projects.
The undersea project resulted in this postcard that Emeline mailed to me as she is also interested in the mail, how it is sent and how it is received.
It is a jellyfish. but of course you could tell that just by looking at it. The body with ribbon tentacles are glued in place and I see it as her first quilt project. It is a small step from putting this together on paper to making an appliqué quilt.

Begin Again....
Here we are, all tucked safely at home...except for the most important people in our lives who are providing necessary medical care and those who are delivering essential services.
I am thankful for the maintenance crew at my apartment building, they are faithfully keeping all of the public areas very clean, every day. Thanks to peapod for delivering my groceries. Thanks to my church, St Columba's Episcopal for daily devotions and to the National Cathedral for worship services on YouTube. What are you thankful for?
How do we occupy our days? We are making face masks for ourselves, our families and for others who need them.
We are also sewing quilts. Now we know why we have been building our fabric stash! We are sad for the reason but thankful there is something creative awe can do while staying home.
Here is a photo of a tote bag made by Linda Bonnett using a pattern in my Pineapple Play book. Linda says this is her first tote bag. Good Job, Linda!
What are you sewing? Masks? Bags? Quilts?

Revival! Sale! Reveal!
Hi, I started this blog and then when I moved to DC from Atlanta, I kind of neglected it. Now is the time to reconnect. To that end I have decided to begin with news of what I have been quilting and to have a PATTERN SALE!
Visit my website to order a minimum of 3 patterns or more from my website: jeanannquilts.com.
DO NOT order from the website, instead email me at jeanannquilts with your selections and your phone number and I will call for your payment information. I use SQUARE to process payments. My phone number is on the website so you can also call me.
My latest pattern is Four Seasons Log Cabin and it is not yet added to the website...good news...it is included in the sale.
Four Seasons Log Cabin is a design that uses my Log Cabin Trim Tool in combination with Deb Heatherly's Ultimate Flying Geese Tool. debscatsandquilts.com
All of my rulers are available on my website so you can order a ruler along with your pattern if you need one. Most of the rulers are also at your local quilt shop or you may have them in your ruler stash.
I am in the hot moment of designing a new ruler. I it is top secret and will be revealed this fall (hopefully). If not in the fall, then January. This new ruler takes me to a new concept and I am really excited about it. WATCH THIS SPACE!
You will be the first to know.

Calling quilters
As you all know, I design rulers or Creative Grids and design and sew companion quilts for Their pattern company, Cut Loose Press. The have new policy and I need pattern testers.
Here are some of my typical patterns, all made with one of my Creative Grids rulers...Log Cabin, Pineapple, Hexagon, and Square on Square rulers, full size and mini will be used. All my projects are strip pieced.
I will provide the pattern to be tested, the ruler if you don't already have it, and the fabric. Testers then make the quilt top, table runner, or the tote bag.
As you sew the project you will be asked to make detailed notes on the instructions I send, if there are any corrections to be made.
For a small project I will need a turn around time of about a week after you receive the materials for a table runner or tote bag, or pillow, or about two weeks for a quilt top (Typical size: 60" X 72"). You do not have to quilt the project (except for tote bags). If you want to quilt the project you may do so, as the project is then yours to keep.
You keep the Creative Grids ruler, quilt top or smaller project to keep or give as a gift.
You will scan and send the instructions (with your notes, if any) PLUS a photo of the sewn item to me..
Anyone interested? If so, then visit my website: jeanannquilts.com to see the typical projects I do, and then email me: jeanannquilts@gmail.com

Jean Ann... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE MINI PINEAPPLE RULER AND PATTERN!
I wanted to wait until i had something to show you... finally managed that last weekend. It’s just a little potholder make with scraps of REAL FEEDSACKS that I have been collecting for awhile. Your mini pineapple tool is great for these tiny pieces that might otherwise get wasted!
We are also busy enjoying our very first (and most likely only) grandchild born Dec 28! At age 62 i am planning to work another few years before I retire, but if life doesn’t slow down soon my husband and i may rethink that plan!
Thank you again... I plan to do another ruler demo at guild in the fall because so many people are interested!

Don’t look too close though... I had to piece together some of the too small pieces to get enough of a color I wanted to use. But I figure that was an honorable “waste not - want not” way to honor the 30’s fabric and the women who used them. Hoping to finish it soon, but life is not cooperating at all (which is why this thank you is so tardy).
